One of the first set of beads that I purchased in the 1990s, these mid-20th century Japanese glass beads still fascinate and excite me. Called Tombo or "millefiori" glass, these twisted black and yellow snail shaped beads are dotted with slices of colorful murrino (canes of glass) in many accent colors. I've framed them between two hand-made sterling silver beads from Turkey. They are securely fastened to American-made nickle-free sterling European leverbacks.
